NAKOA Performance has an innovative approach to fitness that blends injury prevention with athletic based strength and conditioning. We focus on perfecting movement, not just exercise. Our programming is effective and invigorating, our team is engaging and skilled, and our process is sustainable and built for longevity. We take the time to perform an extensive baseline screening process we call our NAKOA Assessment, on every new client coming in. This allows us to gain a comprehensive understanding of exactly where someone’s at and what they need to be successful. From there we can carefully craft the perfect program to support their goals. We also have a vast array of training tools and technologies, like our Myzone heart rate straps and Teambuildr app to enhance the process and motivate you every step of the way.

What's the difference between a Coach
and a Trainer?
Trainers help you exercise. They give you a workout, motivate you to push yourself, and leave with a sweaty feeling of accomplishment. That’s the easy part. Of course we got that on lock. What our coaching team really does though that is next level is analyze what you say you want with what your body really needs to get you there. Our Performance Coaches specialize in effective, science-based programming and advanced movement education based on a detailed initial analysis of what you specifically are starting with. As famous basketball coach John Wooden says “You will find that success and attention to details, the smallest details, usually go hand in hand.” A workout lasts an hour, learning how to move properly lasts your whole life.
The Meaning Behind Movement Education
We specialize in teaching people how to move correctly. There are seven primal movement patterns that form the foundation for every movement that we do today. These movement patterns are squat, hinge, push, pull, lunge, rotation, and gait. Our goal is to help you master these movement patterns and create balance within your body. We continuously evaluate your progress to see what’s working and what’s not. Everybody learns differently, there is no one workout fits all in our approach. Program periodization means that your program is regularly evolving just as your body is so that you continue to progress instead of plateauing. We introduce you to a wide variety of training styles, techniques, and tools to to see what works best for you and what you enjoy the most. Just a few of the tools we employ include kettlebells, dumbbells, landmines, barbels, sleds, skis, speed ropes, speed and agility training, the list goes on. Make no mistake, we make it fun and we know how to challenge you, but there is definitely a specific “method to the madness,” a purposeful plan to ensure that we see progress and results.
